Actually is confusing but interesting. They used to think the smallest thing was the atom. But <doh> the atom is made up of parts and between those parts is still matter or it wouldn't be there. What's below that is the real deal I think. I am also astounded by the theories on electrons as particles or waves like in string theory.

I'm fine with subatomic particles and all, but quantum entanglement at a distance makes me go "wha...?"
And quantum computing, what's the deal with that? If I have it correct, quantum computers get their great speed by finding all the answers at once, but how do they work out which is the right answer out of all the wrong ones?

Think of normal computers using 1's and 0's in a linear line, where quantum computers' 1s & 0s come from every conceivable angle, multiple rows from all directions allowing a billion times faster computation

That was good and one to think about. I usually smoke one before bed and then think about this stuff. Crazy huh?
I have been watching some tubes on a particle being a wave also. How they cant see it until they measure it. That almost broke my brain. But I'm starting to get it now.

Want to really "break your brain"? Read Dragon's Egg by Robert L. Forward. A lot of astrophysics. I highly recommend it; it is so well done, and he explains things so your brain gets it, but it is so wild.

One to ponder. Hell, even AI impresses me. It's scary but fun also.

Quantum physics explains how the smallest pieces of the universe—atoms and particles—behave, and where they can exist in multiple possible states until they're measured.

Yes. That's what I have been watching. One theory of there just being only one electron buzzing through the universe actually being every where at once.
