Standing
Standing is earned through useful participation, clean posting history, good reports, active discussions, approved group proposals, and responsible group stewardship.
What Standing Means
Standing is reduced by spam, abuse, flooding, malicious links, confirmed bad-faith behavior, or repeated rule violations. Higher Standing means more trust and less friction. Lower Standing means more review and more friction.
Standing Levels
Useful Marks
Useful marks are quality signals, not popularity votes. They are capped and filtered to prevent point farming. Useful marks from new or low-standing accounts may be recorded, but only useful marks from trusted users award Standing Points.
Image Uploads
Image attachments require at least 10 Standing Points, which is currently the Kit level. This keeps brand-new or untrusted accounts from immediately uploading images while still keeping normal text participation open. Images are shown as click-to-view attachments, not automatic inline thumbnails. Accounts with at least 100 Standing Points do not normally need admin approval after upload validation, but images may still be removed or rejected if they violate site rules.
Trusted Users
Trusted users are verified accounts with enough account age, Standing, and clean behavior history to be treated with reduced friction by automated moderation. Trusted status is based on behavior, not opinions.
