It's hard enough to follow social media posts by recruits commiting to your school if your school is San Jose State, and you're getting even fewer promising prospects than in the past. Does reading these things have to be made even worse by every single one thanking the Heavenly Father for the Blessing bestowed after praying over the decision? I mean, if these guys are any good at all they'll be off to a school with NIL money after one season. Does that really add up to a Solemn Godly Commitment?

Yeah, the transfer portal and NIL have pretty much killed the whole idea of a commitment meaning what it used to mean. A guy can be 100% committed to San Jose State today, have a good season, and be looking at offers from bigger programs by December.
The religious stuff doesn't really bother me. If that's how a kid feels about his decision, fine. I just don't put much stock in any of the big commitment speeches anymore. Until they've been on campus a couple years, I figure everybody is potentially headed somewhere else.
