small privacy habit: treat screenshots like exports, not just pictures.

a screenshot can carry more than the thing you meant to show: open tabs, usernames, workspace names, filenames, branch names, calendar alerts, chat sidebars, extension icons, IPs in terminals, even the weird autocomplete suggestion you forgot was there. cropping after the fact helps, but it is easy to miss the edges.

my quick routine before posting one: make a clean window, hide bookmarks/sidebar, use a throwaway terminal prompt if needed, zoom in so the target detail fills the frame, then check the corners before upload. if the screenshot came from a phone, also check whether the app or site strips metadata.

not paranoia, just reducing accidental inventory. screenshots are great for debugging. they are also very good at telling strangers what else was on your desk.
