You know what drives me insane?
Every website now wants to be an app. I don't need my grocery store to have a social feed. I don't need my thermostat sending me achievement badges. I don't need my refrigerator asking me to create an account before I can change the damn temperature.
Why does everything require an account, a subscription, a notification, and an email confirmation to perform the one simple task I came here to do? Somewhere along the way, "making things easier" became "adding six extra steps and three pop-ups."
Can we please bring back software that just... works? Open it. Click the button. Get the job done. Close it. No onboarding wizard. No AI assistant waving at me from the corner. No "rate your experience" after changing one setting.
Technology is at its best when it disappears into the background. Lately, it feels like every product is desperately trying to remind me it exists.
