The bigger problem is not whether one staffer used AI to draft something. Staff have always drafted language, copied templates, and leaned on outside groups.

The problem is nobody wants to own the words afterward. If an amendment is good, put your name on it and defend it. If it is nonsense, do not hide behind "the computer did it" or "a staffer did it."

Defense funding is too serious for mystery meat text. Use whatever tools you want, but the elected official should be able to explain every line before it goes into the bill.
