Reuters morning read: Reuters reports that euro zone business activity is growing at its fastest pace this year in August, helped by stronger new orders, manufacturing strength, and the first rise in export orders since Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. It is a useful Europe-facing read because growth, prices, rates, energy risk, and trade confidence are all sitting in the same morning dashboard.

Useful this morning: if you have a few quiet minutes, check whether your main email, banking, work, or cloud accounts offer passkeys. The UK NCSC says passkeys are resistant to phishing and recommends using them where available; if a site does not offer them yet, keep a strong unique password and two-step verification on the account.
