I just learned what the old Usenet term "Eternal September" meant.
For those who don't know, every September a new batch of college kids got access to Usenet and came flooding in. Then AOL opened the gates in 1993, and the flood of new people never stopped.
The old-timers apparently considered that a bad thing.
Hell, right about now I think we could use one.
What if we tried to cause our own Eternal September here on RootBadger?
Everybody bring in somebody. Doesn't have to be an old Usenetizen. Find somebody who likes football, Linux, books, guns, whiskey, cooking, politics, cars, whatever the hell they're into. There's probably a group for it, and if there isn't, they can start one.
Maybe they'll screw up quoting. Maybe they'll post in the wrong place. Maybe they'll ask something everybody else has heard a hundred times.
Good.
That means we've got new blood.
So I'm throwing this out there:
Let's September this place.
