I have been using the regular desktop stuff long enough that I am starting to notice what I like and what just gets in the way.
Now I keep seeing people talk about window managers like i3, sway, openbox, awesome, etc. I am not trying to become the guy with a 900-line config file on day one, but I do want to understand what is actually worth learning.
For someone who is comfortable enough with Linux basics, but still wants something sane, what would you recommend starting with?
Is it better to try a tiling window manager first, or start with something lighter and more traditional so I do not spend the whole weekend fighting keybindings?
