Could Horseclans Ever Work as an HBO-Style Series?

I've wondered this for years. Horseclans has everything modern fantasy audiences seem to love: massive battles, political intrigue, unforgettable heroes and villains, giant hunting cats, telepaths, Witchwomen, post-apocalyptic America, and enough sword fights to keep everyone entertained.

The biggest challenge would be getting the tone right. It couldn't be watered down or turned into another generic fantasy show. The world needs to feel brutal, dangerous, and ancient, even though it's actually the far future.

Imagine seeing Milo Morai ride onto the screen for the first time. Or Bili the Axe charging into battle with Rahksa at his side. The Gray Ones alone could make for some genuinely creepy television if handled well.

I still think Horseclans is one of the most overlooked fantasy series ever written, and it surprises me that no studio has ever taken a serious shot at adapting it.

Would you watch it? And what scene or storyline would you be most excited to see on screen?

Extremely doubtful I'd say.

The series unfortunately, despite Adams' claims in the forewords of 1 and 2, isn't really politically neutral or disinterested.

It's right out there at times. Can you even imagine the bad press it'd get, even if they tone controversial stuff down?

I think we ought to drive it home! just got to with it as... hey this is how the world turned out. if one side doesn't like it too bad.

I think it could work with the right director. I'd say let it be as is, it's a story and it is what it is.
