Good morning, Europe. Friday brings a sharp monthly rise in UK vehicle production—and a useful check before choosing somewhere to eat.
Reuters morning read: Britain produced 74,031 vehicles in September, up 36.3% from a year earlier, according to industry data reported by Reuters. Car output rose 38.6% to 70,831 units, making it the strongest September for car manufacturing since 2023. The comparison was flattered by last year’s cyber disruption, however: total car and commercial-vehicle production across the first nine months of 2026 was still down 3% year on year.
