Good morning, Europe. Sunday brings a substantial UK investment in AI-related security, plus a practical route to urgent health advice when usual services are closed.
Reuters morning read: Britain has set out around £600 million in funding aimed largely at defending against health and security threats from artificial intelligence. The largest share goes to biosecurity, including £100 million for a laboratory using AI to detect biological threats and £65 million for pathogen countermeasures. Another £130 million is earmarked for projects to strengthen cyber defences across critical infrastructure and the wider economy.

Useful this morning: If you need medical help now but it is not a life-threatening emergency, NHS 111 can direct you to the right service. In England, people aged five and over can use 111 online; call 111 for a child under five. The service can also help arrange an emergency supply of regularly prescribed medicine when you have run out, though it does not itself issue a prescription. Call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.
