π Good morning, RootBadger. Saturday starts with a change coming for U.S.-bound air travel and a quick search that may turn up money left behind.
ποΈ Reuters morning read: The CDC will require every passenger flying to the United States to submit a digital or paper declaration stating whether they have been in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the previous 21 days. Reuters reports that the order takes effect November 3 and builds on restrictions adopted earlier this year amid the 2026 Ebola outbreak. The CDC says no cases tied to the outbreak have been reported in the United States.

π΅ Useful this morning: Check whether an old bank account, insurance payment, refund, or other property is waiting for you. USAGov says most unclaimed money is held by state governments, and there is no single federal database for every kind of claim. Search the official unclaimed-property office for every state where you have lived, and use the agency links on USAGov for pensions, tax refunds, savings bonds, and other federal sources. Legitimate government searches are free, so be wary of anyone charging an upfront fee.
