π Good morning, RootBadger. Friday starts with a new federal housing directive and a practical way to check the internet service reported at your address.
ποΈ Reuters morning read: President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at reducing some homeownership costs. Reuters reports that it directs the Federal Housing Finance Agency to pilot automatic cancellation of
mortgage-insurance premiums when borrowers meet equity requirements, makes a title-insurance waiver program for refinancing permanent, and calls for lower rates on certain Agriculture and Veterans Affairs home loans. The measures still require agency action; they arrive as the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate eased to 7.32% this week after reaching 7.40% last week.

π‘ Useful this morning: The FCCβs National Broadband Map lets you search an address and compare the fixed internet providers, connection types, and maximum advertised speeds they report offering there. You can also compare mobile coverage. If your address is missing or a provider claims service that is not actually available, the map includes a formal challenge process to request a correction.
