π Good morning, RootBadger. Wednesday starts with a new proposal for communities hosting data centers and a timely medicine-cabinet cleanup.
ποΈ Reuters morning read: President Donald Trump said companies building data centers should pay a βdividendβ to the communities where they locate. Reuters reports that AI data centers have become a local political issue because of their heavy power and water demands. Trump also said large facilities should generate their own electricity and sell or return excess power to the local grid; in February, he called for major technology companies to build power plants for their data centers to help shield consumers from higher bills.
π Useful this morning: DEAβs National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. More than 4,400 collection sites will accept unneeded prescription tablets, capsules, patches, and securely sealed liquid medicines. Syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs are not accepted. Use the DEA page to check the rules and find a nearby site before Saturday.
