Good morning, Europe. Saturday starts with a UK competition decision taking shape, plus a useful check on your future State Pension.
Reuters morning read: Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority has proposed giving Microsoft “strategic market status” in business software. The regulator says Microsoft holds a strong position in products used by about 20 million people monthly in the UK and is examining switching barriers, AI-tool choice, security-product bundling and cloud licensing. Microsoft disputes the CMA’s view; a final designation decision is due by February.

Useful this morning: GOV.UK’s State Pension forecast service shows how much you could receive, when you can claim it and whether you may be able to increase it. If you have not checked recently, save the forecast and review your National Insurance record while there is still time to investigate gaps. The online service requires a Government Gateway sign-in; phone and post options are listed too.
