Well, this could be the one that starts a fight.
A new documentary called Capturing Bigfoot comes out October 20 in select theaters and on Prime Video. It centers on a 16mm reel found in a safe. The filmmakers say the reel dates to 1966, a year before the Patterson-Gimlin film, and shows what looks like a rehearsal: a slimmer creature walking through the woods and looking back in a very similar way.
Roger Patterson's son Clint is in it too, and says his mother told him the famous sighting was a hoax. The documentary reportedly shows the roughly 40-second rehearsal footage, not just people talking about it.
If that reel checks out, this may be the strongest case yet that Patty was staged. I still want to see the whole clip and how they authenticated the date before calling it completely settled. A rehearsal film is a huge deal, but defenders of the original footage are already pushing back.
