Been busy lately and ain't had much time to post, but this one got my attention.
That company trying to bring back the woolly mammoth says it needs around 150 gene edits instead of the 60 they first figured. Their old 2028 target is gone now and they're talking sometime in the 2030s, using CRISPR and AI to work through the genetics.
I still don't know if that counts as bringing back a mammoth or making an elephant that looks like one. Either way, seeing one of those hairy things walking around would be something.
