Making Flame Warz, the teams/groups, and the cards and their effects, I have learned a bunch of stuff I did not know before about Usenet, its history, and the groups of users. For example, I thought Eternal-September was just the name of a server; I didn't know September was when Usenet got flooded with college students. And a lot more I didn't know.
Anyway, it's been a cool learning experience, and I just wanted to share.

The term “eternal September” was applied when AOL users got Usenet access back in ‘93. Before that, September had been the time that Usenet got flooded with posts from n00bs who didn’t understand netiquette or how the Internet worked or really much of anything, but with AOL and WebTV funneling n00bs onto Usenet, it became a constant flood of “how do I hack Hotmail” and “How do I do a Ping of Death” posts.

You should join Team Black Hats, create your card, and play Flame Warz. Team vs. team stuff. The Black Hats can send viruses; trolls can forge cards... some of that is not quite implemented yet; the card game is functional, though.
