Charter / moderation notes

Charter: rb.rec.sport.basketball is for thoughtful basketball discussion at every level: professional, college, international, youth, pickup, coaching, analytics, tactics, history, gear, officiating, and basketball culture. Good threads include game discussion, player and team analysis, rule questions, roster construction, scouting, coaching ideas, classic-game memories, local hoops stories, and respectful debate about the direction of the sport. Keep league-specific news in the most specific available subgroup when one exists, especially NBA and WNBA topics. Crosspost only when a thread genuinely belongs in more than one basketball group. No low-effort scoreboard spam, gambling touts, fantasy-only dumps, personal attacks, bigotry, or bait posted only to start fights. Rivalries are welcome; lazy contempt is not. Spoilers are allowed after games begin, but use clear subjects for live game threads and major results. Mark rumors as rumors, cite reporting when possible, and separate analysis from wishcasting.
