Charter 1. Purpose. rb.alt.usenet.bellends is the anti-hall of fame for Usenet blunders: absurd arguments, pompous pronouncements, legendary misfires, notorious flame wars, and the etiquette failures that made the medium memorable. 2. Bring receipts. Quote or link to public archive material where possible. Give dates, newsgroups, and enough context to distinguish documented events from lore, parody, or hearsay. Clearly label satire and personal recollections. 3. Laugh at conduct, not private lives. Sharp criticism and irreverent humor are welcome. Doxxing, threats, impersonation, slurs aimed at protected groups, and coordinated harassment are not. Do not use this group to organize a dogpile against a living person. 4. Preserve, do not repeat, the mess. Discuss spam, cascades, trolling, and abusive posts as history; do not recreate floods, crosspost raids, malware, or unwanted contact. Trim long quotes and credit original authors and archives. 5. Scope. Keep posts tied to Usenet and its culture. Celebrate genuine achievements in rb.alt.usenet.legends; use this group for mistakes and cautionary tales. Good-faith disagreement is welcome.
