Charter for alt.hacking alt.hacking is an unmoderated newsgroup for discussion of hacker culture, systems exploration, reverse engineering, programming, security research, hardware tinkering, networking, and the practical craft of understanding how technical systems work. On-topic posts include lab-based exploitation, defensive security, debugging, protocol analysis, operating systems, tooling, hardware modification, old-school computing culture, and writeups that teach something useful. Off-topic material includes requests for account compromise, malware distribution, credential theft, phishing kits, botnet promotion, and illegal intrusion against real targets. Technical curiosity is welcome; criminal solicitation is not. Moderation policy: unmoderated, subject to platform anti-abuse and anti-crime controls.
